Arrest of members of Doctors Without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontieres - MSF).

On the 24th of January 2022 , the Coup security forces arrested doctors working for Doctors Without Borders (MSF) from Al-Gawda Hospital in Khartoum. The detainees were from different nationalities - Sudan, France, Italy, Pakistan and Yemen. They have been subsequently released.

MSF has been actively involved in extending humanitarian assistance, and helping with the treatment of those injured in the ongoing peaceful protests in Sudan calling for civilian rule.

This violation to human rights comes as part of series of previously documented attacks on hospitals, health facilities, patients and medical staff.

The Unified Office of Sudanese Doctors strongly condemns this incident and calls for a strong international solidarity to ensure the facilitation of safe delivery of medical care nationwide.
