Field Report on Civilians’ injury cases during the December 25th anti-coup Protests

 

235 injury cases among civilians have been accounted for to date, including 6 injury cases due to live ammunition, 3 of which are in unstable condition and a case admitted to ICU, 20 head injury cases due to tear gas canisters aimed at civilians with an unstable case, and a finger amputation case from a stun grenade. 

 

235 civilians wounded as below:

- 6 injury cases due to the use of live ammunition (A pelvis injury, a shoulder injury, a forearm injury, an abdomen injury, a chest injury, and a leg injury)

- An arm injury case due to rubber bullet

- 21 head injury cases due to tear gas canisters aimed at civilians.

- 2 injury cases due to a stun grenade.

- 23 head injury cases due to batons beating and stones-throwing

- 39 body injury cases due to tear gas canisters aimed at civilians.

- 95 cases of suffocation.

- 48 body injury cases due to batons beating, stones-throwing and stampede.

 

Khartoum State:

 

Khartoum City’s Processions

A total of 173 injury cases were reported.

 

- 18 head injury cases due to tear gas canisters aimed at civilians.

- 14 head injury cases due to batons beating and stones-throwing

- 29 body injury cases due to tear gas canisters aimed at civilians.

- 91 cases of suffocation due to tear gas.

- 19 body injury cases due to batons beating, stones-throwing and stampede.

- 2 injury cases due to a stun grenade.

 

Omdurman City’s Processions

 

A total of 20 injury cases were reported.

- 3 injury cases due to the use of live ammunition (a pelvis injury, a shoulder injury, and a forearm injury)

- 2 cases of suffocation from tear gas.

- 4 body injury cases due to tear gas canisters aimed at civilians.

- 4 head injury cases due to batons beating, stones-throwing and stampede.

- 7 body injury cases due to batons beating, stones-throwing and stampede.

 

Bahri City’s Processions

 

A total of 39 injury cases were reported.

- 3 injury cases due to the use of live ammunition (an abdomen injury, a chest injury, and a leg injury)

- An arm injury case due to rubber bullet

- 2 head injury cases due to a tear gas canister aimed at civilians, one of which led to head bleeding.

- 5 head injury cases due to batons beating and stones-throwing.

- 5 body injury cases due to tear gas canisters aimed at civilians.

- 22 body injury cases due to batons beating, stones-throwing and stampede.

- A suffocation case from tear gas.

 

Regions

Port Sudan City

A total of 3 injury cases reported

- A head injury case due to a tear gas canister aimed at civilians.

- An arm injury case due to a tear gas canister aimed at civilians.

- A suffocation case from tear gas.

 

CCSD keeps the details of the abovementioned private to protect their rights and for their security.

CCSD is investigating injury cases reported in the regions will release field reports once confirmed.
