A field report on Nov 17th, 2021 protests injuries among civilians in Khartoum State.
CCSD has confirmed more than 100 injury cases among civilians during November 17th, 2021 anti-coup protests which turned into a massacre by security forces. More than 40 injury cases were sustained by live ammunition, a case of paralysis of the lower extremities, and more than 4 cases are in an unstable condition.
- 107 injury cases have been reported in total.
- 48 injury cases due to the use of live ammunition.
- An injury case due to rubber bullets.
- 13 injury cases due to tear gas canister.
- 6 injury cases with bullet debris.
- 39 superficial injuries and wounds from batons beating.
Details According to Cities
Bahri City
- 77 injury cases in total.
- 32 injury cases due to live ammunition, including one case of paralysis of the lower extremities of a 17 year old child, and one unstable case
- 10 injury cases due to tear gas canister.
- An injury case due to rubber bullets.
- 1 injury case due to the beating by batons.
- 4 injury cases with bullet debris.
- 30 superficial injuries and wounds from batons beating. All cases have been treated.
Omdurman City
- 17 injury cases in total.
- 9 injury cases due to live ammunition, 3 of them are in an unstable condition.
- 2 injury cases with bullet debris.
- 6 superficial injuries and wounds from batons beating.
Khartoum City
- 13 injury cases have been reported in total.
- 7 injury cases due to live ammunition, one case is in an unstable condition.
- 3 injury cases due to tear gas canister
- 3 superficial injuries and wounds
CCSD keeps the details of the abovementioned inured private to protect their rights and security.
CCSD will release field reports once confirmed data is obtained from Khartoum and other states across the country. CCSD follows a rigorous procedure to confirm the accuracy of each case before it gets published.
